The goal of the ACS is to support ICT professionals. It does this by:

  • Providing international recognition of skills through a certification program
  • Providing professional development opportunities
  • Promoting ethical standards for the industry
  • Advocating on behalf of the industry
  • Maintaining links with other related organizations on an international level

Other professions such as medicine, law, teaching, financial services have been around for many years and have well established ethical standards. ICT is a new profession and the ACS is one of the organizations which acts to promote propper ethical standards in ICT experts and industries.

As a member of the ASC you abide by their Member Conduct Policy. These requirements exist to keep the highest level of professionalism. Members must also follow the Code of Proffesional Conduct.
